Instructor

Laura Resinger is an actor, voice instructor, and Lessac Voice Practitioner based in Chicago, IL.

She received a BS in Acting from Washington University in St. Louis and an MFA from DePaul University, where she is an adjunct professor of Voice and Speech. Her voice interest began at age 10 when she was given the role of Becky Thatcher in Tom Sawyer at Maplewood Barn Theatre, reportedly because of her voice potential. Such is the world of outdoor theatre.

Since then, she has studied the voice teachings of Lessac, Linklater, Fitzmaurice, Roy Hart, and others. Her background in dance led her to the physical training of Suzuki and Viewpoints, Grotowski, Michael Chekhov, Alexander Technique, Laban/ Bartenieff Fundamentals, and Feldenkrais.

Her love of voicework doesn't end with actor training, though, and she is passionate about empowering all voices to be the most fully realized versions of ourselves. Professionally, Laura has worked with St. Louis Shakespeare Festival, Remy Bumppo, Strawdog, Oil Lamp, Invictus, Midsommer Flight, and can be seen in the feature film Hell is Empty. She is a member of VASTA (Voice and Speech Trainers Association) and proudly represented by Big Mouth Talent.
