Description
[playfest³] is an opportunity for passionate creatives to refine and develop their artistic skills across three disciplines at once: writing, directing, and acting! Students in this class will begin writing original 7–10 minute plays starting in mid-July.
Then, in August, they’ll spend two weeks directing and acting in each other’s pieces. The class culminates in a public showcase at Green Shirt Studio on Saturday, August 16 at 7:00pm.
During the two week rehearsal process, your facilitator will offer individualized support and artistic coaching throughout rehearsals, provide structure and accountability to keep all groups on track, and handle logistics so you can focus on the work.
This class is for you if:
You want to flex your artistic muscles in a fast-paced, supportive, and collaborative environment.
You're available to attend all of the dates listed below. (If you have any conflicts but still want to participate, please reach out before registering.)
You have some experience in at least two of the three areas: acting, writing, or directing.
Not sure if your background is the right fit? Email us at info@greenshirtstudio.com and we’ll help you figure it out.

Attendance Policy
In order to get the most out of your work with us, our students should make showing up to every class on time a priority.
We understand that things do come up so if you know you're going to miss a class, please give your instructor as advance notice as possible. This will help them get you caught up and not throw off the rest of the group. Scheduling a make-up class is possible but not guaranteed.
Students enrolled in our Meisner Acting Program can only advance to the next level if they've attended at least 6 of their 8 sessions. If a student misses more than 2 sessions, they will need to retake the level in order to advance in the program.
Cancellation Policy
Student Cancellation
If a student is withdrawing from a workshop more than 7 days prior to the day of the workshop, the tuition will be kept on file for a future class or workshop for a calendar year.
If a student withdraws from a workshop less than 7 days prior to the day of the workshop, the tuition is non-refundable or transferable.
We appreciate you respecting this policy for the best experience for our instructors and students!
Please reach out at 773-217-9565 if you have any questions.
Studio Cancellation
Occasionally we'll have to cancel a workshop due to low enrollment. We're sorry if that happens to you! If we have to cancel a workshop you've signed up for, we will give you at least 48 hours notice and promptly start your refund process.
In the event that class is canceled due to circumstances beyond our control (including but not limited to extreme weather and pandemic related shutdowns), a make-up will be scheduled as soon as it's safe for our students and instructors to be together safely at the studio.
In some cases classes may transfer to an online platform. If a student is unable to attend the rescheduled class due to circumstances beyond our control (including but not limited to extreme weather and pandemic related shutdowns) that student will receive credit on their account for the value of missed classes.
Space is limited!
See "spots left" above. Enroll now before the class is full!

About the Teacher
Lucky☆ (he/they) has been making art relentlessly for the better part of a decade! After graduating in 2015 with a BFA in Original Works: Acting, Writing, & Directing from Cornish College of the Arts, the world was his oyster! Figuratively. He hates oysters. They worked in arts/tech, danced in dinner theaters & ran away to the circus (and back home to Chicago at Teatro Zinzanni!) He worked as the Executive Co-Producer & Director of the Maison De Réve, a burlesque house under Batio Studio, as well as working at the studio itself making everything from fashion to music videos! He discovered Green Shirt Studio in 2024 & fell in love with their programs! The opportunity to refine his craft while connecting with the community led him to complete Green Shirt's Meisner Ensemble Intensive as well as their 2025 Meisner Teacher Training. You can find some of his work on Instagram: luckystar.chi (**look at tagged photos) Or find him out in the world– gaming with his partners, cuddling cats, & frolikking out in nature!
