We are Andrew and Sommer, the founders of Green Shirt Studio.
We are two highly trained theatre artists with extensive background in the Meisner approach and have recently completed our certificate training in Meisner approach from Larry Silverberg's True Acting Institute under the tutelage of Larry Silverberg (author of The Sanford Meisner Approach: An Actors Workbook (Volumes 1-4), Loving to Audition).
Andrew Gallant
Andrew is a recent graduate of DePaul University's MFA Acting program. He became a fully certified instructor of the Meisner Approach in July of '09 after completing the second half of the two-year certification process taught by actor, author and master Meisner teacher Larry Silverberg. Andrew has also been coaching actors privately for five years.
In addition to his MFA, Andrew holds a BA in Theater from the University of Wisconsin-Madison as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Acting from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.
Before moving to Chicago to attend grad school, Andrew was acting professionally in Austin, TX as a member of the Austin Shakespeare Festival. Andrew continues to act professionally and is a proud member of Actor's Equity Association.

Sommer Austin
Sommer was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa.
She holds a BA in Theatre from The University of Iowa, an MFA degree in Acting from The University of Wisconsin-Madison, and is an alum of the improv and comedy writing programs at iO Chicago (formerly Improv Olympic). She is also a certified Instructor of the Meisner Approach to Acting.
Sommer can be seen performing regularly as an improviser with the team The CEO of Everything at The Playground Theater in Chicago, and is a writer/performer with the sketch comedy group The Alliance.
